"First 5 minutes, you must be able to give the overview of your entire project. If people don't see the BIG PICTURE after 5 minutes, they normally start shutting off themselves. That is why it is always good to start with a clear research framework, in a graphic form.
The last 3 minute, you must be able re-emphasize why your research is relevant and important. Especially in the context of filling the gaps in the existing corpus of knowledge.
